Asheville School (Independent) had won five straight games and Ryann Hernandez did her part to make it six on Thursday. The Asheville School (Independent) Blues simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Carolina Day Wildcats 71-30 thanks in part to Hernandez, who went 8 for 12 en route to 18 points. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandra Altares, who posted eight points and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layla Hunter, who earned seven points and seven boards. Hunter has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amy Rhymer, who had ten points.

Asheville School (Independent)'s win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.5 points. As for Carolina Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Asheville School (Independent) does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carolina Day, they and Hickory Christian Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
