Volleyball Game Preview: Sickles Gryphons vs. Sunlake Seahawks + How To Watch

After both having extra time off, the Sickles Gryphons and the Sunlake Seahawks will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Sickles heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Largo by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Sunlake unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of East Lake by a score of 3-2. Seahawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Thursday.

Sunlake took East Lake into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 15-13.

Sickles now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Sunlake, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.

Sickles couldn't quite get it done against Sunlake when the teams last played back in September of 2022 as they fell 2-0. Can the Gryphons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
