Baseball Recap: Corner Canyon Drops Highest Score of Season Against Tooele

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Corner Canyon). They came out on top against the Tooele Buffaloes by a score of 11-7 on Saturday.

Dallon Stokes looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Nice, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Whatcott, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Corner Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Corner Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Tooele, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
