The Twinsburg Tigers will square off against the Aurora Greenmen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Twinsburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Twinsburg's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They blew past Stow-Munroe Falls 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Lucas Tinter tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bobby Lemieux, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Lane Conway was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Aurora suffered their biggest loss since April 20, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Highland, falling 9-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Greenmen in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.
Gabe Cooch was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Aurora saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Dwyer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Aurora's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Twinsburg, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Twinsburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Aurora in their previous matchup back in April of 2018, winning 7-4. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greenmen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
