Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Northside

Northside waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Farragut Admirals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-3 last Tuesday.

Northside got a great performance from Will Moran as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The Mustangs are undefeated when Moran allows two or fewer earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Tyler Weigand was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Zack Hotz also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Northside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Northside now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Farragut, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Northside will venture away from home to face off against Payton College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Grizzlies have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Farragut, they will host Steinmetz College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Admirals are facing the Silver Streaks at the right time seeing as the Silver Streaks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
