Softball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep vs. Annapolis Area Christian Eagles

Notre Dame Prep will challenge the Annapolis Area Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Annapolis Area Christian will be up against a hot Notre Dame Prep team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Notre Dame Prep put the hurt on St. Paul's Girls with a sharp 11-1 victory on Monday. Considering Notre Dame Prep has won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lea Neff spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lucy Myers and Rosie Galasso did most of the damage at the plate: Myers scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Galasso went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Myers also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Luci Whiting was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Annapolis Area Christian lost 21-11 to Roland Park Country on Monday.

Notre Dame Prep's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Annapolis Area Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Notre Dame Prep's way against Annapolis Area Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, as Notre Dame Prep made off with a 10-3 victory.
