Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is a perfect 9-0 against Peninsula Catholic since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Saints will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Peninsula Catholic's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Saints never let Trinity Episcopal get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Peninsula Catholic entered their matchup against Cape Henry Collegiate on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Knights lost 17-8 to the Dolphins. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since May 3, 2024.

Alyssa Casey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Casey wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addison Dent, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Ava O'Shaughnessy-Tong was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Peninsula Catholic, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy took their victory against Peninsula Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0 score. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
