Baseball Recap: Kennedy Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Kennedy owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against the Little Village Phoenix by a score of 4-0. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now won seven in a row.

Not much got past Alec Mendoza, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Little Village off the board. Mendoza has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Israel Roa was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matchups.

Kennedy pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Little Village, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will square off against Hyde Park at 6:10 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Little Village, they will take on Curie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
