Softball Recap: Whitefish Bay's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Whitefish Bay's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Nicolet Knights a 15-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Dukes as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kyla Sullivan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last eight contests. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Whitefish Bay let Kate Harrison and Jane Wallace run wild. Harrison went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Wallace got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Wallace has posted since back in April. Ansley Elia was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Whitefish Bay's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Nicolet, they are on a 37-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.
