Baseball Game Preview: West Point Pointers vs. Mathews Blue Devils

The West Point Pointers will challenge the Mathews Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for West Point and eight for Mathews.

Thursday just wasn't the day for West Point's offense. They came up short against Middlesex on Thursday, falling 13-0.

Essex hit Mathews with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils lost 12-0 to the Trojans.

West Point's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mathews, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

West Point suffered a grim 16-6 defeat to Mathews in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Pointers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
