The O'Connor Eagles will face off against the Pinnacle Pioneers at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pinnacle will be up against a hot O'Connor squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Eagles never let Shadow Ridge get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Tuesday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Maci Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Charleigh Schuettler and Raegan Holtorf did most of the damage at the plate: Schuettler went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles, while Holtorf went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Holtorf a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydnee Williams, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
O'Connor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shadow Ridge only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Pinnacle came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Hawks 15-0.
Pinnacle got a massive performance out of Sienna Caro, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Caro's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
O'Connor's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pinnacle, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6-1.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. O'Connor hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Pinnacle struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
