Rainier Beach debuts at No. 6 in the national rankings following addition of top-ranked senior Tyran Stokes.

There is a new No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25 high school basketball rankings. Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) takes over the top spot after preseason No. 1 Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, N.Y.) suffered a setback in its opener.

The biggest climber in this week's rankings is Rainier Beach (Seattle, Wash.), which goes from unranked to No. 6 without playing a game thanks in part to a big addition. Other newcomers include DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.), Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Baltimore, Md.) and Fishers (Ind.).

Additionally, Seven Lakes (Katy, Texas) ascends 10 spots following a strong start, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) moves up six spots following a signature early-season win and Bartlett (Tenn.) bumps up four spots.

Four ranked teams have yet to play a game but each of those tip off this week.
