Soccer Game Preview: Spring Woods vs. Sharpstown

The Spring Woods Tigers will head out to take on the Sharpstown Apollos at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring Woods' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, Spring Woods came up short against Waltrip and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Sharpstown entered their tilt with Milby on Saturday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Buffs. The Apollos wouldn't have won without David Castillo, who scored the game-winner.

Sharpstown pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five matchups. As for Spring Woods, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Spring Woods beat Sharpstown 2-0 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Woods since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
