Preview: Spotswood Chargers vs. Raritan Rockets
The Spotswood Chargers's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Raritan Rockets at 11:00 a.m. on January 20th. Spotswood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, Spotswood gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They blew past Carteret 64-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Spotswood has posted since December 18, 2023.
Meanwhile, Raritan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 57-34 defeat to Neptune might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Raritan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Neptune is ranked 95th).
Spotswood pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Raritan, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
