Football Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

After flying high against Nebraska Christian last Friday, Riverside came back down to earth. The matchup between the Chargers and the Fullerton Warriors didn't end well, with the Chargers falling 52-34. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Brady Carraher threw for 140 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. Landyn Carraher was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Cael Dubas produced another solid performance rushing for 254 yards and five scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry for Fullerton. Those 254 rushing yards gave Dubas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Glup, who rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown.

Riverside has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 points over those games. As for Fullerton, their record is now 5-3.

Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fullerton, they will square off against Wynot at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Dubas and Devin Brummer.
