Football Recap: Riverside Chargers vs. Fullerton Warriors
After flying high against Nebraska Christian last Friday, Riverside came back down to earth. The Chargers lost to the Fullerton Warriors on the road by a 52-34 margin on Friday. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Brady Carraher threw for 140 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. Landyn Carraher was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards and one score.
Fullerton found their leader in sophomore Cael Dubas, who rushed for 254 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Those 254 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Dubas. Another player making a difference was Landen Glup, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD.
Riverside has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 points over those games. As for Fullerton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fullerton, they will head out to face off against Wynot on Thursday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Dubas and Devin Brummer.
