Basketball Recap: Briauna Richardson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hernando Christian Academy over First Academy

Hernando Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 28-20 to the First Academy Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-27 back in December of 2024.

Hernando Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Briauna Richardson, who posted six points and seven rebounds. Richardson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Neaya Richardson was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Hernando Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for First Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Hernando Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 57-15 loss against Seven Rivers Christian on the 28th. First Academy has also already played their next matchup (against Lake Mary Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
