Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for La Quinta

La Quinta entered their tilt with Orange on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Orange Panthers by a score of 46-37. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-6 on January 10th.

La Quinta had a senior duo take command as Natalie Tran went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points along with eight boards and three steals and Katie Nguyen posted 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tran has scored all season. Kaitlyn Mai was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

La Quinta is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points per game. As for Orange, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Quinta has already played their next game (against Los Amigos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Orange will take on Santiago at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Orange is facing Santiago at the right time seeing as Santiago is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
