Recap: Kingwood Mustangs vs. West Brook Bruins
The Kingwood Mustangs lost against the West Brook Bruins back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Kingwood fell just short of West Brook by a score of 46-44. While losing is never fun, Kingwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while West Brook is ranked 88th).
West Brook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylin Jones out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Ashton Simmons was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Kingwood's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for West Brook, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Kingwood will take on Humble at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Humble is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for West Brook, they will head out on the road to face off against Beaumont United at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaumont United has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,473 points over their last 21 games.
