Softball Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 9-6 to the Skyridge Falcons. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avilynn Godfrey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Abigail Hitchcock also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Hillcrest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Skyridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Hillcrest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-0 loss against Bonneville on the 14th. As for Skyridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-2 defeat against Rigby on the 14th.
