Softball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Enfield's Winning Streak

Enfield dropped their record down to 17-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berlin Redcoats. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Emily Lyver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As for Berlin, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On Berlin's side, Julia Matan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Izzy Andersen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Enfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Berlin, they are taking a road trip to take on Southington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Redcoats 3.6, the Blue Knights 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
