Baseball Recap: Burnet's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After only two runs in their last game, Burnet made sure to put some runs up on the board against Taylor on Tuesday. The Bulldogs blew past the Ducks 16-5. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cade Park looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Cason O'Hair was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cohen Jorpeland, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Burnet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory snapped Burnet's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-14-1 record. As for Taylor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Burnet will have a chance to go back-to-back against Taylor: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
