New Iberia is 8-2 against St. Martinville since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but St. Martinville had to settle for a 52-49 loss against Breaux Bridge on Friday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Raytyrion Narcisse, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kristian Batiste, who scored ten points along with three steals.
New Iberia's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for St. Martinville, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
New Iberia was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Martinville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 69-61. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was St. Martinville's Jayvyn Duncan, who scored 27 points.
