Baseball Recap: Unioto Beats Westfall for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Unioto had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Westfall Mustangs by a score of 6-1. The Shermans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

KB Perkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Keegan Snyder, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Callaway Ratliff was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Unioto's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Westfall, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Unioto will square off against Miami Trace at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Shermans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Westfall, they will face off against Southeastern at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
