Softball Recap: Brazosport Takes a Loss

Brazosport came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the El Campo Ricebirds, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ricebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in March.

Sanii Player was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Brazosport dropped their record down to 8-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for El Campo, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Brazosport will challenge rival Bay City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, El Campo is set to face off against their familiar foe Sweeny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
