Basketball Preview: Hazelwood East Spartans vs. Helias Crusaders
The Hazelwood East Spartans will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Helias Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hazelwood East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Crusaders are ranked 31st).
Last Wednesday, Hazelwood East came up short against the Cougars and fell 42-35. Hazelwood East has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Helias was handed a 20-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Dutchmen on Tuesday. Helias had just enough and edged the Dutchmen out 36-34. The victory was just what Helias needed coming off of a 51-31 loss in their prior match.
Hazelwood East has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Helias, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
