Softball Recap: Northeast Bradford Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northeast Bradford had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Sullivan County Griffins by a score of 4-1. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Makenna Callear spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Lambert and Antoinette Herb did most of the damage at the plate: Lambert went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Herb went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Lambert a new career-high.

Northeast Bradford's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Sullivan County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.

As of now, neither Northeast Bradford nor the Griffins have any future games scheduled.
