Football Recap: Conard Drops Season-High Score on East Hartford + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Conard). They snuck past the East Hartford Hornets with an 80-74 win on Saturday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 14, 2018, but that streak is no more.

Among those leading the charge was Justin Nanayakkara, who rushed for 25 yards and one score, and also caught one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Conard was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Hartford only rushed for 117.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Caravallo, who threw for 410 yards and nine TDs while picking up 15.8 yards per attempt. Thanks to that big game, Caravallo is now up to 15 passing touchdowns on the season. Isaiah Tripp was Caravallo's top target, picking up 195 receiving yards and four scores.

The victory got Conard back to even at 2-2. As for East Hartford, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Conard will face off against South Windsor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Red Wolves their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for East Hartford, they will take on Simsbury at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
