Basketball Recap: Western Harnett Eagles vs. Triton Hawks
Western Harnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 44th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Triton Hawks, falling 64-26. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 38 points.
Triton had a senior duo take command as Demarbiaz Devane went 8 of 11 on his way to 17 points along with five boards and four steals and Ro'Mello Pegues went 7 for 8 en route to 19 points and four steals. The contest was Pegues' fifth in a row with at least ten points. B. J. Surles was another key player, putting up five points.
Western Harnett's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Triton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Harnett will square off against E.E. Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triton, they will face off against Pine Forest at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
