Basketball Recap: Centennial Gets the Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Centennial ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 76-73 victory over the Wellington Wolverines. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three points.

Jayden Prosper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 61% from the field on his way to 30 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Romilus, who went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points.

Centennial has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points over those games. As for Wellington, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will square off against Palm Beach Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.12 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wellington, they will take on Leonard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
