Baseball Recap: Shawe Memorial Comes Up Short

Shawe Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to the South Ripley Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hilltoppers of the 11-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Shawe Memorial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clark Nichter, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Shawe Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for South Ripley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Shawe Memorial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-3 loss against Milan on the 29th. As for South Ripley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-5 defeat against Rushville on the 2nd.
