Baseball Recap: Grant Union Takes a Loss

Grant Union and Irrigon pushed the score to 16-6 the last time they played Irrigon, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Prospectors fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Prospectors have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Grant Union and nudges their season record down to 10-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Irrigon, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

While Grant Union had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
