St. Mary had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They skirted past the Swampscott Big Blue 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

St. Mary's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Swampscott, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

St. Mary's will square off against St. John's at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Swampscott does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
