Basketball Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Littleton Lions

The Conifer Lobos were the 59-42 winner over the Littleton Lions when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Conifer took a hard 55-40 fall against the Lions on Wednesday. Conifer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Conifer's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ely Miller, who scored 16 points along with four steals, and Jordan Zitkus who scored eight points along with two steals.

It was another big night for Treyton Fletcher, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds for Littleton. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Fletcher has scored at least a third of Littleton's points. Another player making a difference was Mason Koons, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.

Conifer has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Littleton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conifer will take on the Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Pomona is ranked 272nd, while the Lobos are ranked 278th). As for Littleton, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Gators at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Standley Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
