Basketball Recap: Juanita Takes a Loss

Juanita was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through an 88-52 loss at the hands of the North Creek Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Jaguars are ranked 97th).

Leading North Creek to victory were Carter Cohen and Paolo Bonicillo. Cohen dropped a double-double with 24 points and 19 boards, while Bonicillo went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and three steals. The matchup was Cohen's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Cris Bonicillo was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points and six steals.

Juanita's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for North Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Juanita has already played their next contest, a 79-75 loss against Bothell/Inglemoor on the 11th. As for North Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-65 win against Issaquah on the 8th.
