Football Game Preview: Healdton Bulldogs vs. Talihina Golden Tigers + Official Tickets

The Healdton Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Talihina Golden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Healdton comes in on five and Talihina on 11.

Healdton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 47-19 victory over Texhoma/Goodwell. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won seven games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Roo Franklin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 148 yards and four scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Talihina's strategy against Ketchum on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Golden Tigers blew the Warriors out of the water with a 51-8 final score. The Golden Tigers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 11th matchup they've won by 20+ points this season.

Healdton better keep an eye on Landen Griffith. He was instrumental in Talihina's win, rushing for 159 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 135 yards and three TDs. That's the most rushing yards Griffith has posted since back in December of 2024. Gavin Brown was another key rusher, rushing for 142 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Talihina was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Talihina didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Noah Lloyd and Griffith. Griffith has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more passing touchdowns the last nine times he's played.

Healdton's record now sits at 9-2. As for Talihina, their record is now 11-0.

The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Healdton has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 182.5 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Talihina has preferred to attack from the air: they average 336 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
