Football Recap: Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins and fell 47-6. The matchup marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Eli Trent threw for 88 yards and one TD. Michael Henley was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Fort Wayne Northrop, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran is ranked 226th).

David Callison produced another solid performance throwing for 254 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 41 yards. Those 41 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Maddox Weil was another key player, picking up 109 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran has already played their next contest, a 42-0 defeat against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on the 26th. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-18 win against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 26th.
