Basketball Recap: Oregon Piles Up the Points Against Milledgeville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lutheran, Oregon was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 43-11 win over the Milledgeville Missiles. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Missiles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Oregon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Sarver, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals. What's more, Sarver also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sarah Eckardt, who put up nine points and three steals.

Oregon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Oregon's victory bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Milledgeville, their defeat was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-19.

Oregon has already played their next contest, a 46-36 win against Rock Falls on the 15th. As for Milledgeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 28-25 victory against Ashton-Franklin Center on the 14th.
