Basketball Game Preview: Thompson Warriors vs. Columbia Eagles

The Thompson Warriors will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Columbia Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Thompson is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since December 30, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Shades Valley by a score of 52-49.

Meanwhile, Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Clemens. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Jets are ranked tenth).

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Thompson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
