Recap: Ninety Six Wildcats vs. Newberry Bulldogs
The Ninety Six Wildcats entered their tilt with the Newberry Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ninety Six enjoyed a cozy 59-41 win over Newberry on Wednesday. This was payback for Ninety Six, who suffered a 58-55 loss the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 28 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Fortner, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Ninety Six is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Newberry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ninety Six will take on Abbeville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newberry, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mid-Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Mid-Carolina is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
