Volleyball Recap: Aspermont Hornets vs. Water Valley Wildcats
Aspermont and Water Valley squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Aspermont had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Water Valley Wildcats. The shutout was out of character for the Hornets seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in October.
While Aspermont was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 25-11.
Water Valley can attribute much of their success to Isabella Rodriquez, who had 12 digs.
This is the second loss in a row for Aspermont and nudges their season record down to 11-18. As for Water Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 32-6.
Aspermont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Water Valley, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Marathon at 6:30 p.m. Marathon will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Water Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
