Basketball Recap: Dunsmuir Comes Up Short

Dunsmuir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 50-29 to the Chester Volcanoes.

When it comes to explaining why Dunsmuir lost, don't look at Michael Kellar. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points. That was a full 65.5% of Dunsmuir's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon Schneider, who had five points.

Dunsmuir's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Chester, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Big Valley the next time they take the court. Dunsmuir will head out to face Big Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Chester will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
