Baseball Game Preview: Braxton County Eagles vs. Doddridge County Bulldogs

The Braxton County Eagles will challenge the Doddridge County Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Braxton County will be strutting in after a victory while Doddridge County will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Braxton County turned things around against Ritchie County on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 6-3.

Logan Baldwin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Lowther, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Kelly, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Doddridge County came up short against Fairmont Senior on Thursday, falling 16-4.

Braxton County's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-13. As for Doddridge County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
