Baseball Game Preview: Eastlake Titans vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons

The Eastlake Titans will be taking part in a tournament against the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Eastlake saw some tournament action on Monday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Coronado.

Nick Romero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Austin Stroberg and Hamza Hatahet did most of the damage at the plate: Stroberg scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Hatahet scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most hits Stroberg has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Scripps Ranch, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Helix on Monday, sneaking past 3-1.

Scripps Ranch's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Gloff, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Brayden Geruntino also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory got Scripps Ranch back to even at 2-2. As for Eastlake, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Eastlake took their victory against Scripps Ranch in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2. Will Eastlake repeat their success, or does Scripps Ranch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
