After each having a week off, the Arickaree Bison and the Peetz Bulldogs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Arickaree comes in on three and Peetz on nine.
Arickaree is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing North Park: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bison blew the Wildcats out of the water with a 64-0 final score. That 64 point margin sets a new team best for the Bison this season.
It was another big night for Austin Wright, who rushed for 117 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for nine yards and one TD. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Arickaree was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Arickaree didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jorge Ramos and Luis Machado. Ramos also punched in three rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Arickaree is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Ramos got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Peetz faced Otis in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. Peetz took down Otis 37-22. That's two games straight that Peetz has won by exactly 15 points.
The win got Arickaree back to even at 5-5. As for Peetz, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Arickaree has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 275.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Peetz struggles in that department as they've been averaging 240.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Arickaree was dealt a bruising 50-20 loss at the hands of Peetz when the teams last played back in September. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bison were down 30-6.
