Baseball Recap: Dos Palos Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Dos Palos dropped their record down to 12-13-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Horned Toads this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in April.

Dos Palos saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chaz Merrell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Merrell has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

As for Coalinga, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Coalinga's side, Luke Wojewoda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on David Moreno, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Manny Telles was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
