Basketball Game Preview: Winamac Warriors vs. Frankfort Hot Dogs

The Winamac Warriors will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Frankfort Hot Dogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Winamac is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Rensselaer Central on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Winamac took a blow against Rensselaer Central, falling 58-26. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Bombers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Kandace Kroft was Winamac's leading scorer, having posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt an 87-23 defeat at the hands of Danville. The Hot Dogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-17.

Despite the loss, Frankfort saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ava Jarman posted 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Jarman.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Winamac, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Everything came up roses for Winamac against Frankfort when the teams last played back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 68-34 win. Does Winamac have another victory up their sleeve, or will Frankfort turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
