Softball Game Preview: Dreher Blue Devils vs. South Pointe Stallions

The Dreher Blue Devils will take on the South Pointe Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Dreher's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on South Pointe with a sharp 17-0 victory. Considering the Blue Devils' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Rory McCormack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kendall Gipson was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Elle Lockard was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

South Pointe is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Dreher, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
