Softball Recap: Fort Cherry Comes Up Short

Fort Cherry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-0 to the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 two weeks ago.

Fort Cherry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Chartiers-Houston, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fort Cherry is set to square off against their familiar foe Burgettstown at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Chartiers-Houston will take on rival Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Buccaneers 1.4, the Chargers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
