Volleyball Game Preview: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. Patrick Henry Patriots + How To Watch

Mission Bay hasn't had much luck against Patrick Henry recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Buccaneers will venture away from home to take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Mission Bay will be strutting in after a win while Patrick Henry will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Mission Bay beat Lincoln 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Mission Bay had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-11, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Patrick Henry didn't have quite enough to beat La Jolla on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Patrick Henry actually scored more points across those five sets (105-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 15-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Mission Bay will have to keep a close watch on Natalie Rynard and Ashlynn Kirchoff, a pair of players who had a big impact on Patrick Henry's prior game. Rynard had 15 digs and two aces, while Kirchoff had 14 digs.

Patrick Henry's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 23-13. As for Mission Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 20-15.

Mission Bay might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Patrick Henry when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
