The Colome Cowboys had to endure an 18-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They took down Sunshine Bible Academy 59-42 on Thursday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Colome has managed all season.
Sunshine Bible Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Trey Thieman, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Dominic Kalacinski who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Thieman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played.
Colome's victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-14. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Colome will face off against Flandreau Indian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sunshine Bible Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th.
